This article by Pete Pinnell explains why and how to flocculate a glaze. The Kate Younger clear glaze that I use settles out and becomes hard as a rock on the bottom of the bucket. This makes it next to impossible to spray.
I used to use muriatic acid to flocculate glazes. The smell, storage , and danger issues have made me switch to Epsom Salts.
As Pete explains, you can blend Epsom Salts with warm water. When it will no longer dissolve, allow the salts to settle into the bottom. Drain off the top water. Add 1 Tablespoon of the clear water at a time and stir into the glaze. ( a 5 gallon bucket will take around 3 - 4 tablespoons )
