Most of us have our favorite pieces to make, but also know that filling the kiln to maximum; utilizing those small spaces between bowls, vases, etc. ; will allow us to continue our craft. Each year I change up what those kiln fillers will be. If I know I'm doing a Christmas show, there will be ornaments in those spaces. Outdoor shows call for flowers or small animal critters. I also like a price point that will allow a new collector to have a piece of pottery. Some folks will buy one huge piece, but others would rather have 5 small pieces for the same price.
*hedgehog toothpick holder
*small dish for soap, rings, etc
*salt and pepper shakers
I also use these kiln fillers as hostess gifts ( 2 toasting cups and a bottle of huckleberry vodka), gift tags, soap on a small dish, small bowl with truffles, etc. The options are endless.
