As part of the Montana Artrepreneur Program, we are required to keep a landscape journal. It is truly a way of making you more aware of your environment and how it inspires, and affects your work. I may not write in the journal every day, but I do photograph inspirations with my phone, sometimes sketch, sometimes just write.
I have become acutely aware of the things that I have passed by each day and perhaps taken for granted. On a recent day, I noticed the willows blooming and my horse standing in the distance behind them...SNAP.... I took a photo. Later, I wrote about the willows that bloom just outside my studio window.
I had begun making tall ( 24") vases and was not quite sure what to call them. Now , I am making the willow vase series.
